Arcade games have existed since the early 1970s when they were introduced in Japan. They quickly became a hit with American audiences, and by the end of the decade, there were more than 10,000 arcades across the country. 

As time passes and things progress, so do video games. What once were the seats in the arcades we visited as children are now the sofas in our homes, with consoles that allow us to play for hours without having to go out or spend some coins on machines and tickets.

You can control your spaceship using one button and shoot at enemies with another button, which moves them down on their path toward Earth's surface, where they will explode into pieces! The goal of Space Invaders is simple: survive until no more enemies are left standing!

Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is a fighting game released in 1992, developed by Nintendo, and published by Sega. The game was ported to some consoles, including Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Xbox.

In this game, you can choose between characters like Scorpion or Sub-Zero who fight each other using special moves like fireball or ice blast. The goal is to win the match by knocking out your opponent before they do it first!

Street Fighter II

Street Fighter II is one of the most popular fighting games in history. The original Street Fighter was released in 1987, but it didn't become popular until Street Fighter II came out four years later. It was initially released as an arcade game in 1991 and has since been ported to many consoles and computers.

Street Fighter II featured several improvements over its predecessor: better graphics, more characters (although some were clones), faster gameplay, and music that wasn't just bleeps and bloops! 

It also introduced special moves which required players to input specific combinations of button presses at certain times during matches against other players or computer-controlled opponents - these moves made each character unique while still keeping everything balanced enough so no one had an unfair advantage over any other player; this continues today with each new iteration of this series!

Pac-Man

Pac-Man is a maze game in which the player controls Pac-Man and must eat all of the Pac-Mans while avoiding ghosts. The game aims to clear all four mazes with as many points as possible. 

You get points for each square eaten by Pac-Man, with extra points for eating several in succession without being caught by ghosts (a "chomp"). The player can also turn blue ghosts into edible fruit by eating power pellets that appear randomly on the screen.

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong was the first game to have a story. It's also the first game to have multiple levels and a score, as well as the first one where you control a character instead of just watching them on screen.

The game starts with Donkey Kong (your character) climbing up ladders and jumping over barrels thrown at him by an angry gorilla named Mario (the bad guy). If you make it past all five screens without losing all your lives, Mario comes down from his cage and tries to kidnap Pauline--the girl who works in the construction site office!
