Top 5 Capcom video games according to Gamestate

Capcom video games are one of the world's most popular in the gaming community. With a long history of making great games, they have produced fighting games like Street Fighter; horror games like Resident Evil Village; adventure games like Mega Man games and Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright, and so on.

The company stands out in the video game industry, as it is one of the few companies that consistently make games we want to play, and it's not just about nostalgia; it's about quality!

Capcom doesn't just want to make you feel like you're playing an old game; it wants to ensure that those games feel fresh and new while remaining faithful to their source material.

Capcom manages to make some of the best retro games of all time, and today, we'll rank the top 5 best Capcom video games (according to GameState).

5. Onimusha Warlords

Onimusha Warlords is a survival horror game released in 2001 and developed by Capcom.

The game is set in feudal Japan, where you play as samurai Samanosuke Akechi who must fight through demons to save Princess Yuki from the evil demon lord Nobunaga Oda.

The story follows the novel by author Eiji Yoshikawa and characters such as Date Masamune are featured throughout the storyline. It was nominated for best action game at the 2002 Game Awards but lost against Devil May Cry 2 (I know...)

4. Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry is a hack-and-slash action game first released in 2001 by Capcom. The game's protagonist is Dante, who Trish has summoned to help defeat Mundus and prevent him from taking over the world.

The gameplay consists of fighting different enemies using swords, guns, and even your own hands (if you prefer). You can also perform combos that give you more points than simply attacking an enemy without any special moves involved.

Each weapon has its style and move set, making them unique. For example, if you use the sword, attacks will be quick but have less range, while guns have slower movements but longer reach, along with doing more damage per shot fired at close range.

3. Mega Man X

Mega Man X is the first game in the Mega Man X series, and it's considered as one of the best retro capcom games. It was released in 1993 for the Super Famicom and in 2006 for PlayStation as part of the Mega Man X Collection. The game was later ported to other consoles, including Sega Saturn, Game Boy Advance, and iOS devices.

It takes place about 100 years after Mega Man 2, where humans have begun colonizing space colonies outside Earth's atmosphere due to rising pollution levels on their home planet. However, an outbreak caused by Sigma causes a colony to crash back onto Earth with its inhabitants infected by a virus that turns them into Mavericks (rogue robots).

Drs Light and Cossack send their creation X out into space so that he can stop Sigma from taking over other colonies, along with him being able to fight off any remaining Mavericks left behind.

Its amazing storyline and how it never goes out of style makes it one of the best retro Capcom games ever, especially in the arcade category.

2. Resident Evil II

Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It is the second installment in the Resident Evil series and was first released for the PlayStation in 1998.

The game follows Leon S. Kennedy (a fan's favorite) and Claire Redfield, attempting to escape Raccoon City following its destruction by an experimental t-virus outbreak.

The player controls both characters throughout different scenarios, switching between them anytime during gameplay. However, unlike older versions of the game, weapons were limited by ammunition capacity; in RE2, you can expand it by finding and using hip pouches scattered throughout the game.

But be careful; a full inventory can get you into trouble if you're not careful about what you take since there is little space left overbefore heading out into battle against hordes upon hordes in this monster hunter game. You’ll have little space left over when you have everything packed to yourself.

1. Street Fighter II

Street Fighter II is a fighting game developed by Capcom and released in 1991 for the arcades. It was the first sequel to the original Street Fighter and introduced several changes that made the gaming community go crazy and rank it as one of the best retro capcom games to ever exist.

The player selects one of eight characters (or two players can fight each other), each with their own unique abilities:

  • Ryu has good all-around stats.
  • Ken has fast attacks with low damage output.
  • Chun-Li uses kicks and can jump several times in midair.
  • Blanka has electricity-based attacks.
  • Zangief is slow but has high endurance.
  • E. Honda has powerful throws that can knock out an opponent instantly when they connect with them at close range;
  • Dhalsim floats above ground level, making him hard to hit unless the opponent jumps or uses a projectile move (which he can also deflect)
