This article will discuss the event's highlights, including new game expansions, events, and even a new game for sleep-deprived trainers.

Expansions for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Nintendo fans have long-awaited the expansion of the popular games Pokémon Scarlet and Purple. The new content expansions will feature new areas to explore and exciting stories to uncover under "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero." The expansion includes two indivisible downloadable content sets, one for each edition, and offers new uniforms and two new contents.

The first part, "The Turquoise Mask," occurs in the Noroteo region. Players will embark on a school excursion to discover new Pokémon and a secret that will lead them to uncover the mysterious Ogerpon and new forest-themed species.

The second part, "The Indigo Disc," has a more competitive theme. Players will face new and powerful rivals on the Blueberry Academy, a huge island while discovering the powerful and shiny Terapagos.

According to The Pokémon Company, these two parts will connect to tell a completely new story within Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Purple. The expansions can be purchased from the eShop with "The Turquoise Mask" expected to arrive in the fall and "The Indigo Disc" around Christmas, in winter 2023.

Those who purchase the Area Zero hidden treasure before October 31, 2023, will receive a Hisui Zoroark as an additional bonus, which is not obtainable in the game itself. While fans eagerly await the release of the new expansion, a new event has started in Paldea to keep them engaged until then.

New events

Pokémon Scarlet and Purple players also looked forward to the events in Paldea held until earlier March 2023, including a Tera Raid Event featuring two new Paradox Pokémon: Walking Wake and Iron Leaves.

Fans could only capture one of each Pokémon per game during the event. Additionally, the Paldea games are now connected to Pokémon GO, allowing trainers to send postcards and receive rewards.

Pokémon Sleep: A new game for sleepyheads

The Pokémon Company also revealed details about a new game called Pokémon Sleep, aimed at those who struggle with maintaining healthy sleeping habits.

The game promises to help players achieve better sleep by tracking their sleep patterns and offering rewards for consistent sleep habits. However, players should keep their mobile devices charged, as the game requires constant connectivity to track sleep.

Pokémon TCG Classic: A nostalgic throwback

The Pokémon Company has announced that they will re-release the first edition of the trading card game, complete with the highly sought-after Charizard card, in a new classic edition. The classic edition will feature exquisite packaging, making it a collector's dream. The packaging is so impressive that one might hesitate to open it and play the game.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic edition will include a folding game board to store all the items and a toolbox to keep stackable damage counters, Poisoned and Burn markers, and metal spheres. Three classic decks featuring Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise will be included, along with newly printed cards to accompany them. Additionally, the set will come with three card boxes with Energy symbols to match the decks.

The counters and dice in the set are of a unique design, and the folding game board is particularly cool. However, it's important to note that this is a limited edition item, and the price has yet to be announced. The set is expected to be available by the end of 2023.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

One anticipated announcement from the Pokémon Presents 2023 was the reveal of a new game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Set in the Hisui region, inspired by ancient Japan, the game promises to offer a new type of Pokémon adventure. It features an open-world environment and a new gameplay mechanic where players can catch Pokémon without battling them.

The game's story follows the player as they work to create the first Pokédex in the Hisui region, working alongside a professor and other trainers. The player must navigate the region's natural beauty and fierce wildlife to catch and record new Pokémon species.

The trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus showcased stunning visuals and a new take on Pokémon gameplay that has excited fans. The game is to release in early 2024, and fans eagerly anticipate its release.
